Services

Macular Hole Surgery

Macular holes develop gradually due to age-related changes in the vitreous gel, causing central vision to blur or distort over time. Comprehensive evaluation and surgical treatment are available here, giving patients in Franklin County and surrounding communities access to subspecialty retinal care without a long drive.

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration is a progressive condition, and early detection is key to preserving vision. Expert diagnosis and individualized treatment for both wet and dry AMD are available here, close to home for patients throughout the greater Washington area.

Diabetic Retinopathy

High blood sugar over time can damage retinal blood vessels, causing diabetic retinopathy that may threaten your sight. We offer personalized diabetic eye care, including advanced imaging to detect early changes and a full range of treatments to manage the condition before vision loss occurs.

Central Retinal Artery Occlusion

Central retinal artery occlusion demands immediate evaluation. The faster care begins, the better the chance of preserving remaining vision. We provide urgent retinal care for CRAO and work with patients to identify and manage underlying risk factors such as hypertension, heart disease, and elevated cholesterol.

Retinal Detachment

A detached retina requires immediate attention from a retinal specialist. We are fully equipped to evaluate and treat retinal detachments, offering patients in Franklin County access to advanced surgical care, including vitrectomy and scleral buckle, without having to travel far from home.

Floaters & Flashes

New or worsening floaters and flashes of light warrant a prompt retinal evaluation. These symptoms are sometimes the only warning sign of a retinal tear or detachment. We offer same-week appointments for patients experiencing sudden visual disturbances, ensuring any treatable condition is identified and addressed quickly.

Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion

BRVO can cause blurred or missing patches of vision due to swelling in the retina. Early treatment can limit damage and improve visual function significantly. We evaluate and treat branch retinal vein occlusion using the most effective available therapies, bringing retinal subspecialty care close to home.

Retinal Tears

Retinal tears are a warning sign that should not be ignored. Left untreated, they can allow fluid to seep beneath the retina and cause a sight-threatening detachment. We evaluate and treat retinal tears promptly, using laser photocoagulation or cryotherapy to protect your retina and your vision.
