Services
Macular Hole Surgery
When a small break forms in the macula, it can significantly affect your ability to read, drive, and recognize faces. Vitrectomy surgery closes the hole and improves central vision outcomes. Patients throughout the St. Louis area can access this subspecialty surgical care close to home.
Macular Degeneration
AMD is one of the most common causes of vision loss among older adults and requires ongoing management by a retinal specialist. Patients receive comprehensive care from initial diagnosis through long-term treatment, with the goal of protecting as much remaining vision as possible.
Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is the most common cause of vision loss in working-age adults, but with proper monitoring and treatment, serious complications can often be prevented. We manage all stages of diabetic eye disease, from early non-proliferative changes to advanced proliferative retinopathy.
Central Retinal Artery Occlusion
When the central retinal artery is blocked, the retina is deprived of oxygen-rich blood, and vision loss can occur within seconds. We treat central retinal artery occlusion as the ocular emergency it is, offering prompt diagnosis and coordinated care with other specialists to address both your eye and your overall cardiovascular health.
Retinal Detachment
When the retina separates from its supporting tissue, vision deteriorates rapidly and prompt intervention is critical. We treat retinal detachment as the emergency it is, offering surgical repair options tailored to each patient’s situation to maximize the chance of a full visual recovery.
Floaters & Flashes
Most floaters are harmless, but a sudden increase in their number, especially when accompanied by flashes of light, can indicate a posterior vitreous detachment or retinal tear. We evaluate symptoms thoroughly and provide prompt treatment when a retinal problem is detected.
Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion
BRVO is a common retinal vascular condition that can cause macular edema and significant vision loss if left untreated. Using advanced diagnostic imaging, we manage branch retinal vein occlusion with anti-VEGF injections and focal laser to protect your long-term vision.
Retinal Tears
Retinal tears are common, especially after a posterior vitreous detachment, and require prompt evaluation by a retinal specialist. In-office laser therapy creates a seal around the tear, effectively preventing fluid from passing through and causing a detachment. Early intervention makes all the difference.
